Cosmania 2009

I’ve been drooling to attend cosplay (costume roleplay) convention but never had a chance due because my schedule didn’t allowed me to. I just being contend seeing pics taken by my friends and end up envied them as I want to have picture taken with the cosplayers and also I want to see them live in action. lol. Although I’m not an anime fan, I admire the creativity of the cosplayers in making their costumes for their chosen character.
So what is cosplay?
According to Wiki
Cosplay is short for “costume roleplay”,[1] is a type of performance art whose participants outfit themselves, with often-elaborate costumes and accessories, as a specific character or idea. Characters are usually sourced in various Japanese and East Asian media, including manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, hentei and fantasy movies. Other sources include performers from J-pop, J-rock, visual kei, fantasy music stories (such as stories by the band Sound Horizon), novels, and objects from cyberspace or the real world that are unique and dramatic (especially if they have or can be given an anthropomorphic form).
I promised to myself that if there’s another convention of cosplay, I will really attend and will arrange my schedule. I learned from my friends that there will be another cosplay this coming September so I now marked my calendar so I will not miss this event. *crossing my fingers*

Cosmania 2009 will be held on September 13, 2009 at Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. If you are anime fanatic, cosplayer or simply want to experience to attend cosplay, this event is for you.

Cosplays! I’m not a fanatic too. But I had a chance to see cosplays lastweek sa Megamall (Toycon event) Amazing! Ang galing nila, talagang very creative. My little kids enjoy seeing and taking their pics with those characters!
i’ve read that there’ll be a cosplay competition also on june27 at rockwell

I wasn’t able to attend Toycon event. One reason that I’m eager to attend cosplay is to have pictures with them. lol.
Really, there is cosplay competition at Rockwell? Might check it when I’m free. Thanks for the heads up.

Cosplays are fun to watch but i’m not really into this kind of events. I love anime, though.
