Solar Eclipse

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) there will be a solar eclipse on July 22, 2009 (Wednesday) which will begin in India and will be visible in Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mayanmar, Central China, Pacific Ocean, Ryukyu Islands, Marshall Islands and Kiribati.

The Philippines will only experience partial solar eclipse which will start at 08:33AM and will last till 11:06AM. Some parts of the country will also witness the eclipse. Below are the details of time and place where it will be visible.

PAGASA warned the public regarding viewing of solar eclipse directly by naked eye without use of eye safety equipments might cause damaged on the eye. Also viewing thru unconventional methods like X-ray films, sun glasses, film negatives and the likes can be dangerous to the eyes. The safest method of viewing eclipse is thru indirect viewing projecting the image with a pinhole camera.

I will be looking forward on this event. Good thing that my work schedule is on PM shift so I will have time to witness the eclipse after work .
